Sensory Space – Pause

We are bringing you a rather special co-creation as our final release within The Sensory Space, Pause.  It has emerged from our thoughts and Alex’s remarkable talent.

In an age of relentless busyness which can feel overwhelming, it almost takes conscious brute force for us to stop. And yet, research suggests that this busyness is not real, but personal choice linked to our modern self-perception of value.

This short art film was co-created by club members who answered the question “what one thing would cause you to pause for thought?” Thank you to everyone who paused long enough to reply.

At a high level, our answers both positive and negative, fitted into four themes:

  1. The unexpected
  2. Difference
  3. Nature
  4. Humanity

This incredible work was created with Alex’s text-based AI suite, in direct response to our answers and which she then manipulated to create the work.

In exactly 2 minutes …

You are invited to pause

Our Sensory Space has been designed in collaboration with our fabulous friend Alex Bell*. Created as an antidote to the busy world, it is a space of refreshment, a space where your brain can take a short break, a place of calm, tranquility and re-connection, a space to pause and re-set.

When you visit, you’ll find Pause plus another 8 sensory delights to indulge in. Words cannot do them justice, so we invite you to dive in and find out for yourselves.

To make things super easy, we’ll pop the link in the comments below.

“Turn off all distractions. Go full screen. Plug in your headphones. Give your undivided attention!”

* Alex is a musician, composer, sound artist and materials engineer. Her art practice uses the materiality of sound to confront entrenched ideologies and beliefs.

We’d love to know who has experienced the Sensory Space. Please use the comments areas below to share your thoughts and feelings.
