Where is joy?

Hello Thinkers,

How are you all doing today? Do you think we’ve been a little quiet in here?

Apart from announcing the latest film to drop in the Sensory Space, (have you plugged in to that yet? Bev thinks it might be her favourite one so far. She didn’t want it to end) and announcing Summer School, most of our attention has been on client projects and family. It’s hard to keep all the plates spinning at the same time and at the same speed, but here we are…

Here in the UK we have another long weekend ahead of us, an extra Bank Holiday to celebrate the King’s Coronation, and one less day to get things done.

Whether you are a Royalist or not, it’s a good excuse to pause…. and maybe to gather with friends and family, and celebrate being together, in the moment and without the hurry of everyday life, and experience a little joy perhaps?

We make this tenuous link because we’ve been reflecting on being joyful as part of our Year of the Cards. April was all about exploring what it means to us to be joyful.

Kate and one of her boys nail it in the picture at the top of this post, don’t they?

In honour of joy, we invite you to share in these three things that we think are full of joy….

This film and the words that go with it from Nic Askew:

(It’s in a Linked In post and this seems to be the only way we can share it)

And some words to explain why smiling really is good for you: https://www.psychologicalscience.org/news/releases/smiling-facilitates-stress-recovery.html

A 14 minute film we made in the “strange time” of March 2020 about what Joyful means to us. It’s a very casual conversation, with a guest appearance from Lily. The image on the card has changed, as has our hair! We laugh quite a lot and Bev seems to have had way too much coffee:  https://youtu.be/jF4iVSdEeNQ

What does joyful mean for you?

Have a fabulous weekend!

“Live your whole life unswayed by outside forces
and with a wholly joyful heart.”
