A recent Microsoft Human Factors Lab Study highlighted the positive impact of taking short brain breaks between back to back meetings. One of the studies recommendations was to find short break activities that helped to calm the mind. With the importance of brain breaks in mind, it is our real pleasure to provide you with a new brain break option in the form of our 6th release within The Sensory Space, The Wave Is Not The Water.
The soundscape in this piece was developed from the principles of sound healing, which uses sound to achieve entrainment. Solfeggio tones (or chakra pure frequencies), Tibetan ringing bowls and Om chants use vibration to move our bodies and fluctuating brainwaves to a stable frequency – in the same way as mediating the breath.
The film visualizes the vibrations and together they aim to align the mind with the breath towards an elevated state of consciousness.
In a little over 2 minutes …….
You are cordially invited to Om.
Our Sensory Space has been designed in collaboration with our fabulous friend Alex Bell*. Created as an antidote to the busy world, it is a space of refreshment, a space where your brain can take a short break, a place of calm, tranquility and re-connection, a space to pause and re-set.
When you visit, you’ll find The Wave Is Not The Water plus another 5 sensory delights to indulge in. Words cannot do them justice, so we invite you to dive in and find out for yourselves.
“Turn off all distractions. Go full screen. Plug in your headphones. Give your undivided attention!”
* Alex is a musician, composer, sound artist and materials engineer. Her art practice uses the materiality of sound to confront entrenched ideologies and beliefs.
We’d love to know who has experienced the Sensory Space so far. Pop a ‘Thumbs Up’ in the comments below if you have.
