It’s Friyay! We hope your week has been wonderful.
As we pause for the weekend, we have an original piece of poetry for you to enjoy.
We’d love you to read it; let the words wash over you. What do you feel?
If you prefer, you can listen to Bev’s hypnotic tones as she reads the poem to you.
We’re going to keep the author’s identity a secret for now…but we will reveal it at some point for sure.
How dare you?
How dare you look at the sun,
and think of it’s beauty.
How dare you gaze at the stars,
and remark on their brightness.
How dare you listen to thunder,
and watch the lightning,
And call them the spark,
and the heartbeat of life.
How dare you admire the raindrops,
and note each one’s significance.
How dare you talk to the moon
and call it your friend.
How dare you say all these things,
and not assume that you are a part of them?
Because I dare to look at you,
and think of your beauty.
I dare to gaze into your eyes,
and remark at their brightness.
Because I dare to listen to the fight,
and watch the fire in your soul,
And call them the spark,
and the heartbeat of my life.
Because I dare to admire you,
and note your significance.
And I dare to talk to you,
and call you my friend.
Don’t go seeking beauty around you;
Don’t look for the fields full of flowers,
The rainbows in the sky,
The gently sloshing oceans,
The artwork made decades ago.
Instead, notice….
As you are now,
How beautiful, how bright
And how important you already are.
How dare you not see yourself,
As I see you now?
~ Anon …..for now 😉
